Team is the heart of our academy. 

To meet your expectations, we hire highly experienced instructors. Their expertise covers all fields in aviation : civil, military, business, passenger, cargo, short haul, long haul. Most of them are former or active captains and present a solid experience in civil and/or military training. Younger instructors are trained in house and supervised by senior to deliver the expected quality of training.

​Pierre Nahon, 
Accountable Manager

EFTA co-founder, Pierre is a Captain B747 for Cargolux. He started his career at the Belgian Air Force as SF260 instructor/examiner and C130 captain. Instructor (FI, FII, IRI, CRI) and examiner, he totalises 13000 hours flight time in 28 years of aeronautical experience.

Olivier Josse, 
Head of Training

EFTA co-founder, Olivier is a Line Training Captain B737 for ASL Airlines Belgium. After a PhD in chemistry, he started an airline pilot career on the BAe146. Instructor (FI, FII, IRI, ex TRI), he totalises 9000 hours flight time in 25 years of aeronautical experience.

André Muller
Flight Instructor

André started his career in the Belgian Air Force (SV4 - Fouga Magister - T-33), becoming flight instructor (SF260, Fouga Magister, Alpha-Jet) and member of the Red Devils aerobatic team. He continued as a fighter pilot (F104, F16, Mirage 5) and C130 Captain. Later, Line Training Captain on Cessna Citation series, he’s now sharing his huge experience as instructor (FI, FII, IRI, CRI) and totalises over 12000 hours flight time.

Bernard Heuse,
Flight Instructor

Bernard has a long experience in civil aviation, having flown Airbus (319-320-321), Avro RJ & BAe146, and Boeing (737 2/3/4/500, 747, 777). Currently TRI 747 for ASL Airlines Belgium with 17000 hours flight time, he will share his 30 years of passion with you as IRI and CRI.

Bernard Delvaux, 
Flight Instructor

Bernard has a solid and extensive experience with more than 15000 hours in civil aviation. Having flown Boeing (737, 747), Airbus (A300) and many general aviation aircrafts, he's also a glider instructor and competitor. Actually TRI/TRE 747-400 for ASL Airlines Belgium, you'll meet him in EFTA as CRI-IRI.

Maxime Danniau, 
Flight Instructor

Maxime started his aviation career as a flight instructor and is now a First Officer for Brussels Airlines flying the Airbus 319/320. He flew several types of aircraft including Cessna Caravan, Pilatus PC-12 and Bombardier CRJ-900, totalising 8700 hours out of which 4000 hours as a flight instructor. You will meet him in EFTA as FI/CRI/IRI/FE.

Ludovic Degauque
Flight Instructor

Ludovic is a commercial pilot with 11 years of experience and 4000 hours of flight instruction (FI, FII). He will be pleased to share his passion and give you strong basics.

Valentin Lecuyer,
Flight Instructor

Valentin is a young instructor trained in house since day one. Glider (and towing) pilot, he will also give you theoretical courses with enthusiasm.

Philippe Blockmans​
Flight Instructor

Philippe has an extensive experience in business aviation as instructor and manager. Actually TRI/TRE for ASL with more than 15000 hours, he has flown Beechcraft (200/350/1900) and Cessna (525/56X). Instructor and examiner, you'll meet him at EFTA as FI/IRI/CRI.

Guillaume Danhier​
Flight Instructor

Guillaume is Cruise Relief Captain B747 with more than 7700 hours. Having flown B737 and B787, he also has a long experience as instructor. You'll meet him as FI/IRI.

Adrien Roeland-Hecq
Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor

Adrien is a Captain B737 for ASL Airlines Belgium with 5000 hours flight time . Involved in theoretical knowledge instruction for 10 years, he manages the whole theory in EFTA.

Gilbert Conte
Theoretical Knowledge Instructor

 Gilbert had a thrilling career in the Belgian Air Force as an OT&E test pilot, fighter pilot and instructor on Mirage 5, Alpha Jet and SF260. Having exercised different management positions, he also managed the belgian air force training and evaluation center. Already in charge of some ATPL courses at the Royal Military Academy, he's been teaching to civil students for the last 15 years.

Steve Mention, 
Theoretical Knowledge Instructor

​Steve is our ATC specialist. Air Traffic Controller for 26 years, he is actually Supervisor at the Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre. Holder of a private pilot licence, he recently finished the ATPL. Intending to further enhance his aviation experience, he's the right instructor to teach you all about aeronautical communication.

Eric De Wind, ​
Theoretical Knowledge Instructor

Eric is our meteorology specialist. With 30 years of service of which 17 spent in the Belgian Air Force (MeteoWing), he’s also an experienced PPL and ATPL teacher who will share with you his passion.​

Dimitri Colin, 
Theoretical Knowledge Instructor

Actually Line Training Captain B737 and Ryanair Base Captain in Charleroi. Dimitri started his professionnal career with a M. Sc. in Industrial Engineering. After 12 years in the IT business, he's now for 16 years in the aviation industry with 12000 hours flight time and an active teacher for 13 years.

Julien Hubert
Theoretical Knowledge Instructor

Julien is a First Officer and Cruise Relief Captain B747 for ASL Airlines Belgium with 6000 hours. Graduated as an industrial engineer, he started his professional career as flight data monitoring analyst and first officer on Learjet 31/55 and later on the B737. Being for 14 years in commercial aviation, he also spent the last 7 years teaching ATPL theory.

Alexander Jacobs, 
Theoretical Knowledge Instructor

Alexander started his career with Ryanair and ASL Airlines Belgium. Now he's First Officer B737 for Air France - Transavia. Starting his instructor experience with EFTA, you'll also meet him very soon as flight instructor.

Fabian Cesari
Theoretical Knowledge Instructor​

Actually Captain B747 for ASL Airlines Belgium with 9000 hours flight time. Fabian has more than 25 years of experience as TRI, technical pilot, chief pilot and safety manager. Having also flown on the BAe 146 and the B737, he will share with you his passion as ATPL theoretical knowledge instructor.


Valentin Verleysen-Velghe
Theoretical Knowledge Instructor​

Graduated as an aerotechnics engineer, Valentin is a First Officer B737 for ASL Airlines Belgium. He's also an active teacher for 3 years both in High Schools and as TKI for PPL and ATPL theory.
